What is your background in web development?
I’ve been in web design/development since 2001. I started making some simple sites, then grew into a small business with numerous of clients ranging from small, medium, and large businesses. In 2005, I started a full time job at Safeway Inc. building internal tools such as their comprehensive Store Look-Up tool, Employee Knowledge Management Systems (KMS), multiple Content Management Systems (CMS), and Customer Relations Management (CRM) tools using technologies such as ASP, Javascript, Windows IIS, and SQL Server – all being integrated into Safeway’s rich, enterprise architecture. I worked for Safeway until 2008 when I joined World Vision
At World Vision, I was a Senior Internet Developer, and eventually Applications Architect. There, I utilized technologies such as PHP, MySQL, REST, Linux/Apache, Java/JSP, PL/SQL, SOAP and dealt with maintaining the e-commerce system in the back end, and utilize HTML5, RESTful Web Services, Ajax, JSON, jQuery, and convert PSD to HTML in the front end. Currently, I am the Principal Software Engineer and Dev Manager, and I focus on technical solutions for the business as well as enterprise development standards.
The Planet Kodiak business has grown in recent years as well. I’ve developed a network of other, talented designers and developers that I often bring on to large projects.
